Next year will be AUSXIP’s 30th Anniversary (and I told myself it was only going to last six months… oh sure…) and our 20th year of doing the Charity Auctions. The tentative total for the money raised was over $10,625.24, giving us a grand total since 2006 of a whopping $305,934.86! Kapow! Mind-blowing, and it’s all thanks to the Xenaverse for being an incredible fandom! In other news… My 10th novel has been published! YEAY! My goodness, where has the time gone!

September and October were a very busy months—the auction ended, and Ann and I were busy getting everything ready for shipping and finalizing everything. Then I was on a tight deadline to get my novel Phoenix—the 10th book in the Intertwined Souls Series—ready for publication! Mission accomplished. It’s been a busy busy couple of months.

Rob said… It was an anomaly at that time to have a female-driven kick-ass show. And so, with the success of Xena, it opened the doors for everything that came after. We are trying to launch a new version of Xena. It would not be the story of Xena and Gabrielle with Lucy and Renee. It would be like they did with Star Trek, a reimagining of that universe. Whatever it’s gonna be, it will be different, which is exciting. Thirty years later, it has to be different.

The weird thing is, I was always a reluctant participant of reboots. Because I’ve done 134 episodes or whatever it is, I don’t feel like there’s a fresh series of stories that I haven’t told yet. That could be my lack of imagination, but I didn’t want to recast Lucy and Renee. But for a feature, now 30 years on, I’m interested in doing that.

I don’t know when and where it is, but they’re gonna see a script somewhere in the next three to six months, and one can only hope. So. We wait. Did you read the GoMag article confirming Xena and Gabrielle’s love after 30 years? No kidding! News to me 🙂 I had a good laugh over that one. What secret lesbian love subtext? Come on, EVERYONE knew they were lovers. There was ZERO doubt in my mind, and I figured it out the moment I saw my first episode.

If a straight chick can figure it out in seconds, odds are good that everyone else knew. Good thing I didn’t name AUSXIP my first choice… Down Under Xena (DUX) but that’s another story (go read how AUSXIP was born) in the definitive guide to the Xenaverse called “Xena: Their Courage Changed Our World” – one of my babies and for new Xenites, discover the rich tapestry that is the Xenaverse!
